I get asked a lot about the last election and how close we came to making history. But for me, the 2009 race is in the past. I'm running because I care about the future of this city. That's what I want this race to be about.

Over the next two years I hope to build a campaign of ideas and advance a long-overdue discussion on the challenges facing our great city. It's clear that we need compelling and innovative approaches to our most pressing concerns: jobs, education, public safety, affordability, transportation and more.

As the campaign continues you can expect to hear from me on these issues. I look forward to hearing your ideas and suggestions, as well.
